INFORMATION ABOUT DOCUMENT’S TRANSLATION SERVICE AT THE BAHAMIAN EMBASSY

Dear Customer:

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas has updated its visa application to online process. One of the requirements of the application is that the supporting documents must be translated into English and legalized in an official institution. Taking into account the peculiarities of the translation services in Cuba (costs, time and offices’ availability), the Embassy of The Bahamas in Havana has decided to temporarily offer the documents’ translation service in order to speed up the process.

Requesting translation service:

  • Documents’ translation service can be requested in person, in our Embassy at 5ta Avenida # 3306 /30 and 32, Miramar, Playa or by email through: embahamas.havana@gmail.com.
  • For translation’s services requested through mail, a scanned pdf copy of the originals (each one separately), with good quality (to facilitate reading, medical certificates must be legible), a copy of your identity card on both sides and your phone number must be sent to the aforementioned email.
  • If the service is requested in person, the originals and the identity card must be presented.
  • The price of the translation is: 50.00 CUP per page (one sided). The official who attends the translation service will issue an invoice with the cost of the service calculated.
  • Payment of the service can be made in cash or via Transfermóvil to a card with the confirmation mobile number indicated by the official (the card number will be provided by the official once the cost of the service has been calculated).
  • Payment must be made as soon as the invoice is received.
  • Translations will not be delivered until the payment is received and cleared.
  • The delivery time for translations is between 24 to 48 hours during working days (holidays are not included).
  • Translation can be requested in hard copy (paper, in which case clients must come and pick them up at the Embassy), in digital format (via e-mail), or both. The digital documents will be delivered in pdf format.

The translations being carried out at the moment are: criminal records, birth certificates, legal travel authorizations and to obtain passports for minors, medical certificates, marriage certificates, bank statements, single status certificates, employment letters, self-employment licenses, acknowledgment of paternity. If you need to translate other documents not previously listed, please contact the Embassy previously and request for information.

The translations and legalizations carried out by the Embassy of The Bahamas in Havana are for the exclusive use of the Consular Division of the Government of The Bahamas and for clients who need to apply to travel to The Bahamas or any related consular service. DOCUMENTS ARE NOT TRANSLATED OR LEGALIZED FOR SERVICES OF ANY OTHER INSTITUTION, COUNTRY OR CONSULATE.
